Researchers sniffed out the top dog names in Denver

DENVER, CO — There are often lists compiled that offer interesting statistics, but this one really gives us paws: Rover.com, the nation's largest network of 5‑star pet sitters and dog walkers, has released its fifth annual report on the most popular dog names throughout the country — including Denver, where researchers found people opt for human names for their pets.

The top dog name in Denver for male dogs is "Charlie," while the top name for a female is "Bella," according to the study. After "Charlie," the top five male dog names in Denver are: "Max," "Cooper," "Jack" and "Buddy." Male dog names that made the top ten specific to Denver were "Winston" and "Toby." For female dogs, the top names were "Lucy," "Luna," "Daisy" and "Sadie, " with Denver owners also picking "Stella," "Lily," "Bailey" and Penny."

Researchers also were able to sniff out some interesting findings on Denver's dog-naming tendencies:
