Tuesday Weather Forecast For Metro Denver: Snow, Slick Roads

Here's a look at the weather forecast for Denver's metro area.

Denver's metro area can expect snowfall Tuesday morning and slick roads, according to the National Weather Service. The chance of precipitation for the region is 80 percent, and wind could gust up to 22 mph.

While snow is expected to fall in east metro Denver, the west metro area will likely get more precipitation. Weather officials have issued a winter weather advisory from 3 a.m. until noon Tuesday for Boulder, Longmont, Arvada, Lakewood and Golden.

Up to four inches of snow could fall in some regions Tuesday morning, weather officials said.

"Plan on slippery road conditions," the alert read. "The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning commute. Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous."

Most of the snowfall will occur between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m., weather officials said.

"Travelers should be prepared for winter travel conditions and a slow, slippery commute Tuesday morning, especially in the western and southwestern metro areas where upslope flow will enhance snow amounts," the alert read.
