WATCH: Bill Murray Brings 'New Worlds' Show to Denver Dec. 10
Murray's debut album, "New Worlds," Sept. 29, combines performances of classical works by George Girshwin and Johann Sebastia

DENVER, CO - SNL viewers of a certain age remember Bill Murray as "Nick the Lounge Singer" bellowing out "Staaaar Wars." Murray, the singer, is back with a new musical persona -- that of Classical Music Concierge. On Murray's new album "New Worlds," (out Sept. 29) the comedian teams up with cellist Jan Vogler, violinist Mira Wang and pianist Vanessa Perez to present music of Bernstein and Gershwin with poetry and prose by Walt Whitman and Mark Twain.
Murray and Vogler bring the musical/literary performance to Denver on Dec. 10 at the Bellco Theatre. Tickets go on sale online at axs.com on Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. Cost is $45-$125.
Early reviews of the new recording are positive, with one NPR critic saying Murray keeps his zaniness along with moments of solemnity.
"It's as if Murray has ... crashed the party, but this time he shows up in your living room, with an armload of books and a trio of fine musicians," wrote Tom Huizenga.
