Wind Warning Continues In Metro Denver, Snow Possible

Wind gusts of up to 25 mph could hit some metro Denver areas Tuesday, and there's also a chance of snow.

The blustery weather is expected to continue Tuesday in Denver's metro area, according to the National Weather Service. The forecast also calls for a cloudy sky and a 20 percent chance of snow.

A north wind will gust around 15 to 18 mph, but could increase to 25 mph, weather officials said. A high of around 28 is expected, but that will plummet to around 7 by Tuesday evening, with wind chill values as low as -3. Evening winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Then the clouds will part Wednesday, but wind chills as low as -2 could hit early in the morning, then warm to a high near 45 during the day, the agency said. The wind will then settle to around 6 mph.

The sunny trend will continue Thursday with a high near 48 during the day and a low around 25 in the evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the high country.

"Light snow will be likely in the mountains on Tuesday along with a chance of snow over the plains. Strong northerly winds are also expected over the plains Tuesday and Tuesday evening," the alert read. "Mountain areas will see a few inches of snow accumulate while the plains should receive less than an inch of snow. There will be another chance of snow in the mountains Thursday afternoon and night and again on Sunday afternoon and night."
