Winter Storm Advisory Issued For Metro Denver, Boulder: Update

Temperatures are expected to drop dramatically across the Front Range. Here's what you can expect.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Boulder and the metro Denver area. The weather alert will be in effect until 12 p.m. Wednesday.

Tuesday's rainfall is expected to turn into snow by the evening.

"Slow down and use caution while traveling," the alert read. "Scattered power outages will also be possible."

Up to 6 inches of snow is expected to fall in some Front Range areas, weather officials said.

"Winter will make an early arrival as a strong system from the north will bring much colder temperatures as well as accumulating snow to the region," the alert read.

Weather officials also warned of slippery, slushy roadways in some areas, and falling tree branches.

The winter weather advisory includes Denver, Boulder, Arvada, Lakewood, Golden, Littleton and other Front Range communities.
