Winter Storm Watch Issued For Metro Denver, Boulder
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the Front Range.
The National Weather Service has issued weather alerts for Boulder and the metro Denver area. A winter storm watch will be in effect from 12:01 a.m. Monday until 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Up to 6 inches of snow is expected to fall on both days, weather officials said.
"Winter will make an early arrival as a strong system from the north will bring much colder temperatures as well as accumulating snow to the region," the alert read.

"Temperatures will drop quickly behind a cold front Monday night with snow starting shortly after midnight over the higher terrain and foothills."
Weather officials also warned of slippery, slushy roadways in some areas, and falling tree branches.

"Snow falling on trees in full leaf may cause branches to break or other tree damage," the alert read.

The winter storm watch includes Denver, Boulder, Arvada, Lakewood, Golden, Littleton and other Front Range communities.
