DENVER, CO — The National Weather Service has issued weather alerts for the metro Denver area and Boulder. A freeze warning has been issued until 9 a.m. today and a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued until 3 p.m.

Traffic has slowed throughout the Front Range and I-25 Urban Corridor as vehicles face freezing drizzle and wind gusts up to 40 mph.

"While warm ground temperatures will reduce the impact of the snow,
it will be cold enough for icy roads in some areas. This will be
especially true on bridges and during the time the heaviest snow
is falling," the alert read. "Be prepared for variable conditions and leave some extra space in case the road is slicker than you think it is."
