• Elbert County to consider plan for 842 Blue Sky Ranch homes near Elizabeth (thebadger.news) — Elbert County is weighing a major change to the Blue Sky Ranch plan that would boost housing from 193 to 842 homes northeast of Elizabeth, with hearings set for Oct. 6 and 28. Residents in and around Elbert are raising concerns about traffic, water, emergency services, and rural character, while the proposal includes new paved roads, parks, trails, and a community center. 
• Elbert County panel recommends Silver Buckle Ranch tower with safety conditions (thebadger.news) — Elbert County’s Planning Commission has unanimously recommended a 110-foot cell tower at Silver Buckle Ranch, aimed at boosting wireless and 911 coverage for nearby rural areas. Final approval now rests with the county commissioners, who will hold an Oct. 14 hearing where fire, life-safety, and other conditions must be satisfied before any construction permits are issued.
