17-Year-Old Inmate Escapes JeffCo Juvenile Jail

Marcos Arredondo​ scaled a fence and fled Monday night, sheriff's authorities said.

GOLDEN, CO -- A 17-year-old inmate from the Mount View Youth Services Center escaped the facility on Monday, Jefferson County authorities said. Marcos Arredondo was being held for two cases pending in Denver and Boulder for aggravated robbery, a statement from the JeffCo Sheriff's Office said. Arredondo scaled a perimeter fence and fled around 8:20 p.m. on Mar. 12.

This is not the first time he has tried to escape custody, the sheriff's office said. Arredondo also has a pending escape charge in Arapahoe County.
