Xcel replaces power poles, lines as part of wildfire mitigation project (kdvr.com) — Xcel Energy crews are upgrading power lines and poles on Lookout Mountain as part of a massive wildfire-mitigation effort that also targets high‑risk areas in and around Golden. The company is replacing overhead wires, considering underground lines in parts of Golden, and adding cameras and weather stations to better detect and prevent wildfires.
