Colo. fire chief fired over response to racist incident at station (firerescue1.com) — Golden officials have fired Fire Chief Kasey Beal, following the earlier dismissal of the city manager, over how a racist incident at a local fire station was handled. City leaders say they'll review workplace culture and accountability, while Beal disputes the decision and plans legal action against the city of Golden.
4. Xcel replaces power poles, lines as part of wildfire mitigation project (kdvr.com) — Xcel Energy crews are upgrading power lines and poles on Lookout Mountain as part of a massive wildfire-mitigation effort that also targets high‑risk areas in and around Golden. The company is replacing overhead wires, considering underground lines in parts of Golden, and adding cameras and weather stations to better detect and prevent wildfires.

Lived in golden my whole life and this is a first for me Right off of Quaker and 12th! (Nextdoor Pleasant View) - A bear wandered onto Colorado State University's campus in Fort Collins on move-in day, creating an unexpected welcome for about 3,200 students settling into the university before classes begin next week.
