Conifer Wildfire Contained: Evacuations Lifted
A grass fire had scorched 2.5 acres Friday night, JeffCo authorities said. Evacuation orders were lifted.

CONIFER, CO – A grass fire that scorched about 2.5 acres near Conifer was under control Friday night, the Jefferson County Sheriff's office said. The wildfire sprung up near 13800 Wamblee Trail, Jeffco tweeted. Initially, 20 homes were evacuated, with residents sent to Conifer High School, but around 7 p.m., the evacuation orders were lifted.
Firefighters remained on scene overnight. Agencies participating were North Fork Fire, U.S. Forest Service and West Metro Fire and Rescue.
