Driver In Custody After Golden Fatal DUI Crash
William Lenox, 29, swerved into traffic on Hwy 93 and hit another vehicle head-on, police said.

From the City of Golden Police Department: On Friday, Feb. 22, at about 11:30 p.m., Golden Police along with Golden Fire and AMR Ambulance responded to a traffic accident at the intersection of Hwy 93 and Golden Gate Canyon Road.
According to witnesses, a car was traveling northbound on Hwy 93 without its headlights on, when it crossed over the center line and hit another vehicle head on traveling southbound. There were four people inside the victim’s car.
The passenger in the right rear seat suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead when rescue crews arrived. The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time. The driver and other two passengers were transported emergent to St. Anthony’s hospital. Their injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

The suspect, 29-year old William Lenox (DOB 9-3-89), was not injured in the crash. He was arrested for multiple charges including Vehicular Homicide, Vehicular Assault, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or Drugs, and Careless Driving Resulting in Death. He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail pending formal charges from the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.
