Evergreen Landlord Shoots, Kills Roomate
A 33-year-old man was shot outside a home in Evergreen after a dispute with his landlord, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.

EVERGREEN, CO -- A man was shot and killed by his landlord after a dispute over whether he could continue to live in an Evergreen residence, the Jefferson County Sheriff's office said.
Alexander Hudspeth, 33, was found by JeffCo sheriff's deputies around 3:45 p.m. on May 20 lying in the driveway of a home in the 7700 block of Highway 73 with a gunshot wound to the chest. Hudspeth was unresponsive and was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
Hudspeth had been living at the home owned by David Claussen, 46. Claussen and Hudspeth "got into a confrontation over Hudspeth continuing to live at the residence," a statement from the sheriff's office said. Claussen shot Hudspeth with a handgun.

Claussen was booked into the Jefferson County Detentions Center and charged with second-degree homicide.
Jefferson County said the investigation is ongoing.
