Monday, Oct. 30 - Nov.5 . Golden Hell Week Runners tackle five mountain trails around Golden within five days and log their time into a special website. If you finish the hell week, you will have run 32 miles and ascended over 6,000 feet. This year, the Mountain Toad Brewing Company has graciously donated a free beer to the top men and women for overall time, ascent time and descent time! There is also a specialty prize for the slowest overall time.

Tuesday, Oct. 31 Open Mic Nite at the Old Capitol Grill & Smokehouse OpenMicGolden (OMG) presents Open Mic Nite at the Old Capitol Grill & Smokehouse. Featuring LIVE Music by You (or your friends!) every Tuesday. Those brave enough to perform receive one free draft beer per performer. $2 tacos.

Tuesday, Oct. 31 Geeks Who Drink If you've been looking for a way to put your wealth of seemingly useless knowledge to good use, consider rounding up a group of friends and heading over to Buffalo Rose bar & grill. Geeks Who Drink is a recurring event that takes place every Tuesday evening, starting at 7:30 p.m. This trivia night is modeled after the UK old fashioned pub-style, with teams of up to 6 battling it out for bar cash and bragging rights. The event is free to attend. Players must be 21 or older to participate.

Ongoing until Nov. 2 Coats for Kids Drop off Sites During the upcoming winter months, many Jefferson County students will start their day at a bus stop shivering and enter a school needing time to ‘warm up’ before starting class because their family cannot afford a winter coat. This year the need is greater than ever, so Gold Compass Real Estate has partnered with Support JeffCo Kids to provide Coats for Kids. Creekside Insurance, Colpar’s HobbyTown USA and Earth Treks have generously offered to help by providing convenient coat drop off locations. All donations will go directly to a child in need in the Jefferson County school district. We are looking for new and gently used coats, gloves, hats, scarves, and boots in all sizes to fit students in kindergarten through high school.
- Earth Treks Climbing Gym – 700 Golden Ridge Rd, Golden, CO 80401
- Creekside Insurance – 25997 Conifer Rd, Conifer, CO 80433
- Colpar’s HobbyTown USA – 3355 S Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80227
