Genesee Park Wildfire Contained Near Golden
A small wildfire was contained in the Genessee Park Thursday. The JeffCo Sheriff's Office has declared Stage 1 Fire Restrictions countywide.

GOLDEN, CO – A small grass fire was contained by firefighters in Genesee Park just north of I-70 and the Chief Hosa exit, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.
Several neighboring fire fighting agencies sent emergency personnel, the sheriff's office said on Twitter.
JeffCo Open Space closed the following trails until further notice: Beaver Brook Trail, Lookout Mountain Trail, Gudy Gaskill Trail, and the parking lot at Windy Saddle Park.

The JeffcCo sheriff's office has declared Stage 1 fire restrictions county-wide, which means all fireworks are banned, and outdoor fires must be confined to a "permanently constructed fire grate in a developed park, campground, private residence, or picnic area." Outdoor smoking is banned except in areas "six feet diameter that is barren or cleared of all combustible material." Open burning, including bon fires is prohibited.
