Golden Fire Dept. Begins New Volunteer Recruit Class
The department will accept applications to apply until Dec. 15.
GOLDEN, CO – Golden's (mostly) volunteer fire department is opening the season for a new class of volunteer recruits.
The 2019 Volunteer Recruit Academy is a five-month program where firefighters are certified through the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control. Volunteers are also trained in technical rescue, high-angle rope rescue and swift-water rope rescue. The team's EMT training is taught in cooperation with Exempla Lutheran Medical Center.
The 2019 Recruit Academy will be held February 28 - June 28, 2019, every Wednesday and Thursday night from 6-10 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Golden Fire Department is also looking for Lateral Volunteer Firefighters with at least two years' experience and current certifications.
