Golden Firefighters Help Deliver Baby Girl

Golden Fire and Rescue helped a mother deliver a baby girl Monday afternoon, after mother was at an advanced stage of labor.

GOLDEN, CO -- Golden Fire and Rescue helped bring a new baby into the world Monday, when a couple called for help because the mother was in an "advanced state of labor," a Golden spokeswoman said.

"It was just after noon when [GFD] got the call," emailed Karlyn Tilley, Golden's communications manager. firefighters were sent to north Golden in the Cheyenne Mobile Home Park.

The delivery was just in time, about five minutes after firefighters from Engine 21 arrived at the home, Tilley said. "[Firefighters] arrived to find a frantic dad and the mother at a stage in labor where she would not make it to the hospital. Our three firefighters pulled out their medical kits and helped to deliver a baby girl."
