Golden HS Boys Basketball Coach Steps Down, Will Keep PE Job
Head Boys Basketball coach John Anderson stepped down after allegations he mistreated student players, the district said.

GOLDEN, CO -- Golden High School's successful boy's head basketball coach resigned from his coaching position after allegations that he mistreated students on the team, Denver Channel 9 reported. John Anderson will continue to teach physical education at Golden HS.
Anderson is considered one of the top boy's coaches in the state. But Golden HS Principal Brian Conroy received complaints about Anderson’s alleged 'inappropriate conduct' over the Thanksgiving break, Jeffco Public Schools Chief Communications Officer Diana Wilson told Channel 9.
Wilson told the station the players were never in any sort of physical danger. She characterized Anderson's resignation "controversial" at the school, as he was "very popular with some players/parents, and unpopular with others."
