GOLDEN, CO — The Golden Police Department has unveiled a special decal in celebration of Pride Month. It's the same old decal, but just a lot more colorful.

Police departments across the country have been showing their LGBTQ support this month with rainbow decals on social media, flags and even patrol cars.

It's a growing tradition for police departments to change their decals in support of movements, including Police Memorial Week and Black History Month.

Some police union representatives have opposed such shows of support, saying they are concerned it will be a "slippery slope" if hate groups decide to lobby to be supported; however that hasn't stopped the departments from taking a stand.

Rainbow flags have been proudly displayed in cities and towns across Colorado in celebration of Pride Month.
