Golden Trailer Homicide: Suspects In Custody In Utah
Austin Boutain, 24, and his wife, Kathleen Boutain, 23, are suspects in the death of 63-year-old Mitchell Ingle in a Golden trailer park.

GOLDEN, CO -- Golden Police issued a statement that a man and wife arrested in Salt Lake City in connection with a fatal carjacking of a University of Utah student are sole suspects in the Golden murder of 63-year old Mitchell Bradford Ingle in an RV trailer at Clear Creek RV Park, 1401 10th St. Police checked Ingle's welfare around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday after Salt Lake City police identified a truck and three guns belonging to Ingle in possession of carjacking suspects Austin Jeffery Boutain, 24, and his wife, Kathleen Elizabeth Rose Boutain, 23. The Boutains are currently being held in the Salt Lake City jail.
Golden investigators, along with representatives from the 1st Judicial District Attorney’s Office, spent yesterday and today interviewing the couple, a statement from the City of Golden said.
The Golden Police Department will recommend charges of first degree murder, robbery, and motor vehicle theft.

The Jefferson Co. Coroner ruled the death of Ingle as a homicide. Other details about his death are not being released at this time. The victim and the suspects just recently met and did not have a long-term relationship.

Austin Boutain turned himself in after a manhunt Tuesday near the University of Utah campus where Salt Lake City Police allege he shot and killed student CheinWei Guo during a carjacking. Salt Lake City police said Boutain also told them he shot at a female witness, although police did not indicate whether that woman was injured.
The Associate Press reported that police are still trying to figure out the events that led Boutain, an ex-convict, to allegedly kill Guo, a devout Mormon. Guo came to the U.S. from China, joined the Mormon church at 16 and later chose to study computer science at the University of Utah. Boutain allegedly shot Guo after demanding the student's car.
Boutain's rap sheet includes drug and weapons charges in He was released from an Alabama prison in May. It was not immediately known why he and his wife were in Utah.
