Jefferson County Seeks Feedback On Trails Plan

Jeffco officials are asking the public to help complete the first countywide trails plan.

GOLDEN, CO — Jefferson County is inviting community members to have their say in the Jeffco Trails Plan. Officials have launched a survey and are seeking input through an interactive online map.

Jefferson County Open Space aims to create an interconnected and comprehensive system of trails countywide.

The plan focuses on off-street trails and dovetails with existing on-street bicycle and pedestrian trail plans. One of the plan's central goals is to identify and bridge gaps in the countywide trail network.

The City of Golden, local agencies, non-profits and parks are working with the county to create the plan.

Priority areas and projects will be worked on within the next five years, officials said. The projects' implementation will help improve safety for trail users, increase and enhance healthy trail-related recreation opportunities and allow more people to begin their outdoor experience from their homes, Jefferson County Open Space said.
