Mountain Wildfire Burns 50 Acres Near Utah Border On I-70
Interstate 70 was closed down both ways on the western slope near the Utah state line as firefighters attacked a blaze outside Fruita.

FRUITA, CO -- A wildfire has destroyed 30-50 acres along Interstate 70 near the Utah border, Thursday, the Mesa County Sheriff said. The fire was discovered at mile-marker 17 along the highway. The highway was closed from Fruita to Loma in both directions, according to CDOT. Highway officials suggested using Hwys 6 and 50 as alternatives.
