• Grand Junction's New Brachiosaurus Will Be Hard to Miss (k99.com) — Grand Junction's Museum of Western Colorado is fundraising to place a massive, life-size Brachiosaurus replica at Grand Junction Regional Airport, celebrating the area's dinosaur discoveries. The proposed 45-foot-tall, 75-foot-long sculpture would greet arriving travelers and highlight local fossil sites like Riggs Hill and Fruita's Dinosaur Hill while showcasing the region's paleontology legacy.
• As Litigation Looms and Drought Takes its Toll, State Officials Defiant Over Colorado River's Future (agriculture.com) — Colorado's brutal 2026 drought has pushed Colorado River flows at Cameo, just upstream of Palisade and Grand Junction, to their lowest levels in nearly a century of records. Ranchers across the Western Slope are cutting herds, hauling water, and facing soaring costs as state officials brace for high-stakes negotiations and possible lawsuits over future Colorado River allocations that could shape Grand Junction's long-term water security.
