4 Charged With Murder In Connection With Wheat Ridge Homicide

Four people are accused of murdering 23-year-old Ervin Spahitch in 2019.

GOLDEN, CO — Four people have been charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of 23-year-old Ervin Spahitch, who was killed Jan. 26, 2019, in Wheat Ridge.

Marissa Lawrence, 20; Jonathan Joseph Montoya, 18; Jalen Isiah Wilson, 17; and Christian Salas, 18, have each been charged with first-degree murder. Lawrence remains at large, Wheat Ridge police said.

Montoya, Wilson and Salas were juveniles at the time of the murder; however they are being charged as adults, the 1st Judicial District Attorney's office said.

Police officers were called to the 3200 block of Gray Street in Wheat Ridge, where they found Spahitch, bleeding, slumped over in a Toyota Prius, according to the Wheat Ridge Police Department. He was pronounced dead soon after.

Salas, Montoya and Wilson are being held without bond. Their next scheduled court date is set for Feb. 12.

A warrant has been issued for Lawrence's arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call Wheat Ridge police at 303-235-2903.
