Bear Rescued Near Bear Creek Boulevard In Lakewood
A West Metro Fire crew went up a tree to rescue a bear that was tranquilized by wildlife officers.

LAKEWOOD, CO — A bear that was found wandering in Lakewood Saturday was relocated to a bear habitat with the help of fire and police crews. The operation took at least 12 hours, Colorado Parks and Wildlife said.
Wildlife officers were called around 9 a.m. to an area near Bear Creek Boulevard and West Jewell Avenue, where someone reported seeing a bear. The officers found the bear in a tree and waited for hours until the animal climbed down low enough in the tree to be struck with a tranquilizer dart.
West Metro Fire Rescue was called to help the sleeping bear out of the spruce tree and lower him safely to the ground.
