Carjacker Drives Over 2 Elderly Women In Lakewood: Police

Have you seen this car? Lakewood police are searching for a man who ran over two women in a carjacking, officials said.

LAKEWOOD, CO — Two elderly women were injured in a carjacking Monday in Lakewood, police said. Officers are searching for a car that's wanted in connection with the crime.

Officers were called to the 400 block of Benton Street around 12:45 p.m. after witnesses said they saw a man steal a car and drive over both women. The victims, ages 76 and 88, were taken to an area hospital. Their condition was not known.

The vehicle is described as a 2000 Lincoln sedan — possibly a Town Car or Continental — with Colorado Honorably Discharged Veteran license plate number 274-CBF.

The suspect is described as an 18-20-year-old man, around 6 feet 2 inches tall, who was last seen wearing a hat and red cloth mask.

Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to call 911 immediately.

"Do not approach the suspect as he is considered armed and dangerous," Lakewood police said.

Correction: Lakewood police earlier reported the women were in their 60s, and one was run over; their ages and injuries have since been updated.
