I have several sponsorship spots available that will introduce our Lakewood Daily readers to your local business. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top stories today in Lakewood:

  1. Lawsuit against the City of Lakewood by Casa Bonita dropped. Requests to release building plans may now proceed as the South Park creators' lawyers have dropped their objection to the public release of the building plans for the upgrades they are pursuing inside the famed restaurant. (CFOIC)
  2. Expansion of Bear Creek Lake studied by Colorado Water Conservation Board. As part of the Colorado Water Plan, which seeks to expand the storage capacity for water in Colorado, the CWCB and the Army Corps of Engineers partnered on a study to find places that could be expanded to support additional storage, which includes possibly expanding Bear Creek Lake's capacity. (CBS4)
  3. Updated COVID-19 boosters available at Jeffco clinic. Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH) is providing booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at their clinic in Lakewood, located at 645 Parfet Street. (9News)
  4. America's aging infrastructure impacted by heat waves and flooding. As heat waves are pushing power grids to their limits, and floods are impacting water systems in the U.S., climate impacts are adding to the growing maintenance backlog. (The Conversation)
  5. Federal Landmark name changes in Colorado. 28 landmarks that included the word "squaw" have been changed in Colorado, along with more than 650 across the country have been swapped out after a federal effort mandated removing the long-used slur. (Out There)
