Here are the top stories today in Lakewood:

  1. Jefferson County voters will decide whether or not to allow marijuana sales and production in unincorporated parts of the county. There will be three ballot measures on this November's ballot for Jeffco voters to decide if they'll allow the sale and manufacture of marijuana, as well as adding a county tax onto the sales. (CBS4)
  2. CDOT about to pull the trigger on the five-year Floyd Hill project on I-70. Estimated cost to complete the project will run around $700 million. The expansion will add a westbound toll lane, a new eastbound climbing lane for slow vehicles, and variety of other upgrades for bicycles and wildlife. (CPR)
  3. Chicken salad recalled at area Safeway stores. Some prepared chicken salad meals sold have been recalled after a customer had an adverse reaction after consuming the product. (FOX31)
  4. How two suburban cities in Colorado are facing the reality of water shortages. Castle Rock and Arvada have taken two very different approaches to supplying water to its users, but both are scrambling in the wake of bleak water forecasts amid climate change and drought. (CO Sun)
  5. Vail vs. Vail. The Town of Vail is continuing its fight against Vail Resorts. The conflict stems from Vail Resorts desire to develop a portion of the parcel of land for employee housing, but now the town is threatening to take the land by any means possible. (Out There)
