Here are the top stories in Lakewood today:

  1. Major climate bills survive after mad rush to the end of the 2022 Colorado legislative session. Air pollution, recycling and greenhouse gas emission bills were passed by state lawmakers in the final hours of the 2022 general session that concluded on Wednesday night. (CO Newsline)
  2. Free school meals for students in Colorado headed to a public vote. Colorado voters will decide whether or not keep free meals for school children. The Healthy School Meals for All initiative will go into effect if it's approved by voters this November. (CPR)
  3. The $400 refund checks from the State of Colorado could be even bigger. Early estimates may have downplayed the value of the rebates that will be sent to all Colorado taxpayers later this year. (KDVR)
  4. Mobile home residents may get the help they weren't asking for. What was most wanted was rent stabilization, but that got nixed from the bill early on. There's hope that other items included in the new legislation will provide some relief for the state's mobile home park residents. (CPR)
  5. Small bakeries bracing for wheat price increase. Small batch bakeries are getting hit with rising ingredient prices and increased minimums. (CBS4)
