  1. Car thefts continue to soar across the state. Recent FBI numbers show that Colorado continues to be the top vehicle theft state in the U.S., and Denver has the second highest number of thefts, second only to Bakersfield, CA. Auto thefts have increased 78 percent in Denver, as compared to last year. (7News)
  2. Man found deceased in pickup truck in Lakewood. Lakewood police are searching for an individual driving a black Audi, believed to be connected to a homicide at a Conoco station on South Wadsworth Boulevard last Friday. (9News)
  3. Jeffco School Board hears update on school closure list. The Jefferson County School Board will vote on a controversial plan to close elementary schools on Nov. 10. The board met this week to discuss the impacts of the closures on a variety of issues, including enrollment, students, staff and transportation. (Arvada Press)
  4. Locally owned liquor stores across the state are worried about November vote. Three propositions on this November's state ballot could rewrite Colorado's liquor laws, and many mom-and-pop stores are worried that the changes will potentially put them out of business. (5280)
  5. King Soopers and Albertsons announce plan to merge. Two of the nation's largest grocers have agreed to merge in a deal they say will help them better compete in the marketplace. The Kroger bid was $20 billion for Albertsons. (9News)
