Here are the top stories today in Lakewood:
- First home completed in Louisville 12 months after Marshall fire. Jessica Carson and her two children cut the ribbon on their new home on Friday. It's the first home to be rebuilt after the devastating wildfire took more than 1,000 homes last December. Louisville is the first jurisdiction to issue a certificate of occupancy, though several homes in Superior are near completion, none have been issued in unincorporated Boulder County. (9News)
- Coach Prime docuseries set to debut on Dec. 29. The series "Coach Prime" will be featured on Amazon Prime. The four-part series documents the Jackson State University 2022 football season, when the team went 12-0. (CNET)
- Investigators say that Marshall Fire investigation results could be released early in 2023. Boulder County Sheriff's Office says that hopes to complete its investigation into the cause of the wildfire that destroyed more than a thousand homes, "early in the new year." (9News)
- Colorado's Attorney General is opposed to Kroger-Albertsons merger. Colorado AG Phil Weiser has filed a brief that urges the court to block Albertsons' $4 billion payout to investors during the review of its merger with Kroger. (Patch)
- Statewide plastic bag fee goes into effect on Jan. 1. A 10-cent bag fee of will go into effect at the beginning of the year across Colorado, and then by June of 2024, plastic bags will be banned from stores entirely. (FOX31)
