Coronavirus Update In Lakewood: 324 Cases Confirmed
Here's the latest breakdown of new coronavirus cases in Lakewood.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — As of Tuesday, 314 cases of the new coronavirus have been confirmed in Lakewood since the outbreak began, health officials said. According to the latest data posted by Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, 1,011 cases and 40 deaths have been confirmed in Jefferson County.
Around 31 percent of Jeffco cases were found in Lakewood, health officials confirmed.
Around half of the people who've been infected in the county likely contracted the virus in the community, but it remains unclear how they were infected, data show. Around 35 percent were infected by "known exposure to a COVID-19 case" — usually a family member, public health officials said.

Less than 3 percent of Jeffco cases were linked to recent travel, and around 11 percent of cases remain under investigation.
Around 50 percent of residents in Jefferson County haven't been leaving their homes at all amid the stay-at-home order, according to recent anonymous cell phone data.

In a news conference Monday, state health officials said they believe that more than 65,000 Coloradans have already had COVID-19.
The statewide stay-at-home order is set to end Sunday, and Gov. Jared Polis said he's working with health officials to analyze various strategies for reopening the state that don't involve overwhelming hospitals' intensive care unit beds.
According to government data posted Tuesday afternoon, 10,447 people were infected with the new coronavirus in Colorado among 48,704 people who have been tested since the outbreak began. There were 2,003 people hospitalized, and 486 deaths were confirmed.
