Driver Killed By Fleeing Robbers In Lakewood: Police
Police are investigating a deadly crash in Lakewood.
LAKEWOOD, CO — Police are searching for several suspects after a deadly crash Friday in Lakewood.
Officers were called to a beauty store in the 400 block of South Wadsworth Boulevard just before 2 p.m. after a report of a robbery in progress. When the officers arrived, several suspects drove off in a red Mitsubishi Galant, according to the Lakewood Police Department.
"The suspects fled at a high rate of speed before eventually crashing into another vehicle," the department said in a news release.

The suspects struck a Honda Civic near 1st and Harlan in Lakewood, police said. The man who was driving the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Neither the suspects nor the deceased driver have been identified at this time," Lakewood police said.
The investigation was ongoing. No further details about the case were released.
