LAKEWOOD, CO -- There's a chill in the air and fall is here in Lakewood. Celebrate Halloween and other fall events this week with family friendly and nature activities. From the live bat encounter, to the Pet Parade at the Belmar Boo Bash, to a full-moon hike in Bear Creek Lake, this season will be a Halloween to remember.
Oct. 25
Live Bat Encounter Wheat Ridge Recreation Center and Bear Creek Lake Park partner together for a live bat encounter! Learn about the benefits of bats, the need for conservation, and what we can do to help these unique mammals. There will be live bats from North America, Africa and Asia. Bring your camera! Registration is required: Call 303.231.1300 to sign up. Event is at Wheat Ridge Recreation Center. Ages: 5+ Cost: $5/person, $7 the day of the program.

Voces8 at Lakewood Arts Center Not technically a Halloween event, bu their voices are chilling. Britain’s VOCES8 is one of the world’s most versatile and best-loved a cappella groups, touring the world performing a repertory from Renaissance polyphony to contemporary commissions and arrangements. “The singing of Voces8 is impeccable in its quality of tone and balance. Belmar Boo! A Lakewood Halloween Event For Families Join Belmar in celebrating Halloween on Sun, Oct 29, 2017 with daytime trick-or-treating at Belmar Boo! This is a free community event, costumed kids 10 and under and pets are invited to trick-or-treat the streets of Belmar, visiting shops and restaurants featuring family-friendly activities.

- (11 am - 1 pm) Trick-or-treat, play games, and snap photos on the streets of Belmar
- (11:30 am) ‘Monster Mash’ flash mob and dance performance on the Belmar Plaza by Cherry Creek Dance
- (12 pm) Halloween Pet Parade
- Prizes will be awarded for the best dressed pets
- Recommended $5 registration donation for The Animal Tranquility Project at Foothills Animal Shelter
- Pet registration opens at 11:30 am at the registration booth on the Belmar Plaza

Raven Full Moon Hike, Lakewood Leave those flashlights at home for this unique hiking adventure! You will be guided by a park naturalist along Bear Creek Lake Park's trails and surrounding green spaces. Wear comfortable hiking shoes, dress for weather conditions and bring water. These hikes are designed for the whole family, and each will average an hour and a half of walking on uneven terrain. Meet at the Bear Creek Lake Park Visitor Center.
