Last month's fire at Tiffany Square Apartments in Lakewood took the lives of two people.   4. Colorado River water users confab hopes to rethink how to use water. Water managers from the west are meeting in Las Vegas this week, at the same time as a water crisis is hitting the users of water from the Colorado River hard. The conference's theme is "A New Century for the Colorado River Compact," with a goal to address how to keep water flowing to 40 million people and millions of acres of farmland. (CO Sun)
  5. National Western Center getting ready to move forward with next round of construction. It's almost that time of year for the stock show to come to town, and the National Western Center will be breaking ground on their next building in Elyra-Swansea on the day before the 117 National Western Stock Show begins on Jan. 7.
