Holiday Gift Shop Helps More Than 3,800 Children In Jeffco

Lakewood's Action Center has opened a gift shop in Littleton, which will help hundreds of families in need.

LAKEWOOD, CO — For decades, a holiday gift shop in Jefferson County has helped families in need. The shop offers parents free presents for their children.

The Action Center’s Holiday Gift Shop will welcome several hundred families this year, providing more than 3,800 children with toys, books and stocking stuffers. The 47-year-old tradition "ensures that children in need each holiday season have a special and magical holiday," the center said.

The gift shop is set up like a big toy store and allows parents or guardians the ability to choose the gifts that their kiddos have high on their wish lists.

"Through the Holiday Gift Shop the Action Center helps families in our community by reducing the stress and financial burden of the holiday season,” Pam Brier, the center's executive director, said in a statement. “We are here to ease that burden and bring needed joy to children in our community."

The Action Center’s annual Holiday Gift Shop will take place Dec. 9 to Dec. 14 at The Rock Community Church, 12472 W. Belleview Ave., in Littleton.

The Action Center is still in need of several thousand gifts for the Holiday Gift Shop. Some of the most needed items include:

  • Remote control cars and trucks
  • Skateboards and scooters
  • Science kits
  • Arts and craft kits
  • Nail and makeup kits
