Here are the top four stories in Lakewood today:
- Jeffco to ban sale of fireworks due to wildfire risk. The firework restrictions would go into effect when ordered by the Jefferson County Sheriff. (FOX31)
- Driver clocked going 73 mph in Lakewood on Colfax. Lakewood Police stopped a driver last Saturday, after clocking them driving 73 mph in a 35 mile per hour zone on West Colfax. The driver was going more than two-times over the posted speed limit, and had no proof of auto insurance. (KDVR)
- Scientists say there's only a "small window" to avoid full-blown climate crisis. Greenhouse gases have increased significantly since the first alarm was sounded in 1990. - Golden High School still struggles with mental health crisis. In 2015, three Golden High School students committed suicide. From those tragic deaths, the school started working with a nonprofit that encourages one-on-one conversations, and how to change the stigmas around youth mental health. (CPR)
