Jefferson County Neighborhoods With Highest Coronavirus Rates

Here's the latest look at the communities and municipalities with the highest coronavirus case rates in Jefferson County.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — More than 20,000 people have been infected with the coronavirus in Jefferson County, and 1,200 people have been hospitalized, according to public health data.

As of Monday, 442 people have died in the county, according to Jefferson County Public Health.

  1. Leyden: 73.39; 238 total cases
  2. Okane Park: 52.66; 1,236 total cases
  3. Charles Whitlock Rec Park and Morse Park area: 52.09; 316 total cases
  4. Scenic Heights: 50.58; 173 total cases
  5. Mount Carbon Park and Westgate: 50.41; 351 total cases
  6. Northeast Lakewood: 50.33; 1,755 total cases
  7. Whisper Creek: 49.43; 270 total cases
  8. Skyline: 46.88; 522 total cases
  9. Homestead Park and Columbine: 46.15; 462 cases

Among Jeffco municipalities, Edgewater has the highest coronavirus rate (49.06), followed by Wheat Ridge (42.40) and Lakewood (40.08).

  1. Northeast Lakewood: 81 deaths
  2. South Lakewood: 41 deaths
  3. Charles Whitlock Rec Park and Morse Park area: 38 deaths

Between 4 p.m. Sunday and 4 p.m. Monday, 3,988 new coronavirus cases were reported in our state, according to data posted by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Just under half of Colorado's critical care ventilators were in use as of Monday, and 14 percent of hospitals reported anticipating intensive care unit bed shortages over the next week.
