Lakewood Party On The Plaza: Entertainment, Activities, Schedule

LAKEWOOD, CO — Lakewood has been celebrating 50 years as a city all year, and the fun continues with a free birthday bash for people of all ages this Friday, Aug. 23. The free party will begin at 4:30 p.m. at Civic Center Plaza, 470 S. Allison Parkway.

Party on the Plaza, which will run until 8 p.m., will feature the Colorado band The Modniks, who will perform '60s hits.

The event will also feature balloon animals, lawn games, a magician, face painting and The Canine Stars Stunt Dog Show.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and partygoers will be offered birthday cake. Food truck fare will include sliders and tacos from Chibby Wibbitz, macaroni and cheese options from Mac 'N Noodles and dessert by Scrumptious Ice Creamer. Kiwanis Club of Alameda West Foundation will host a beer tent serving Colorado beer and wine.

Free parking is available in a covered garage and a street surface lot.
