Here are the top stories today in Lakewood:
- Judge's decision favors the City Lakewood in clash with university about student housing. The decision is a victory for neighbors opposed that were opposed to six off-campus duplexes CCU that were being rented to students. (Burlington Record)
- Denver's STAR Program struggles with supply issues. The backlog for the city to purchase new vans is delaying additional paramedics and mental health professionals from responding to some 911 calls. (9News)
- Multi-family housing units sprouting up around RTD transit stops. Development around RTDs station areas have captured 25 percent of multifamily development and 31 percent of office development in the Denver metro area. (FOX31)
- Catalytic converter thefts from vehicles are on the rise in metro Denver. The Denver police released a regional warning statement about the dangerous pattern of thefts as they increase across the metro area. (CBS4)
- U.S. reinstates previous miles per gallon requirements by 2026. All new vehicles beginning in 2026 will be required to average at least 40 mpg, up from today's 24 mpg. (9News)
