Lakewood's ArtLine Coming To Life Near West Colfax Ave.

An interactive biking and walking art and sculpture trail planned through the 40West Arts district in northeast Lakewood seeks public input

LAKEWOOD, CO -- Start looking for Lakewood's 40 West Arts District to become more colorful as Lakewood's ArtLine project swings into action this winter and spring. The bike and pedestrian trail from the arts district will connect three parks, two historic neighborhoods along West Colfax and the W Line light rail in northeast Lakewood.

Right now, the ArtLine organizers are looking for community input on the materials and installations that will dot the trail. Look for murals painted on the ground, a thin green line and signs along the route. Join the world of art and help shape the “look” for the route by taking a quick survey at 40WestArtLine.org/PilotProject. You can also volunteer online to paint more ground murals.

Look forward to interactive art installations inspired by Stegosaurus, Colorado’s official state fossil, the at Aviation, Mountair and Walker-Branch parks.
