Man Dies In Lakewood Crash, Investigation Underway

LAKEWOOD, CO — A man died Wednesday in a crash in Lakewood, police said.

Officers were called at 9:38 p.m. to West 6th Avenue, between Wadsworth and Sheridan boulevards.

The driver of a white pickup truck struck the center median in the eastbound lanes of West 6th, police said. When he got out of his truck, he was struck by a vehicle in the westbound lanes, according to witnesses.

"Agents attempted lifesaving efforts, but the male was declared deceased on scene," Lakewood police said in a community alert.

The driver who struck the man stayed with the victim, police said. As of Wednesday night, the driver had not been charged for the crash.

The investigation was ongoing.
