Man Shot, Killed In Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, CO — The Lakewood Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation after a man was shot and killed near Alameda Avenue and Teller Street early Tuesday morning, authorities said. The suspect remains at large.

Rene Perez, 56, was shot in an apartment complex parking lot just before 12:30 a.m. in the 200 block of South Teller Street, police said. Perez was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No further details about the nature of the shooting were released. A description of the suspect was not available.
