Mental Health Innovators Pitch Ideas In Lakewood For $500K Prize

Free Community Pitch Showdown​ lets mental health providers compete to be one of six companies in a new non-profit incubator project.

LAKEWOOD, CO -- Who says tech nerds get to hog all the pitch decks and elevator speeches? Watch mental health providers dive into the non-profit shark tank for a chance to win $500,000 for their agency in Lakewood at the Free The Innovators Society Community Pitch Showdown.

Described as a "one-of-a-kind event where nonprofit innovators take the stage to win your vote," audience members each get $1,800 in Community First Dollars to electronically vote by for the most exciting mental wellness innovations.

The event is the first by the non-profit The Innovators Society and the kick-off to a six-month accelerator program to develop six local mental wellness innovations.

"We are asking you to think like an investor," the organizers said. "Once you have heard the pitches, you will use your phone to award this money to the nonprofit innovations that excite you the most."

The Free Community Pitch Showdown takes place at the Lakewood Cultural Center, 470 South Allison Parkway on Tuesday, June 5 between 3 - 5 p.m. don't miss the "after party with a happy surprise to follow."
