Snow showers and rain are expected Monday in Denver's metro area, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service.

There's a chance of snow showers and rain before 4 p.m. Monday, and then a 70 percent chance of snow showers after 4 p.m., weather officials said. Wind could gust up to 22 mph in the evening.

The chance of precipitation rises to 90 percent later Monday night, and up to 4 inches of snow could fall in some areas, the agency said. Wind could continue gusting up to 22 mph, and a low of around 20 is predicted.

You can expect a 40 percent chance of snow showers Tuesday morning, and then the clouds will part for the rest of the day.
