New Treasurer Property Search Tool Announced In Jefferson County

Jefferson County has upgraded its Treasurer Property Tax Search.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — A new treasurer property tax search tool has been announced in Jefferson County. The tool allows residents to view their tax statement and pay their property taxes online.

The upgrades include:

  • Enhanced historical data;
  • Viewable tax bills from 2015;
  • Improved security;
  • The ability to make multiple property tax payments within the same transaction; and
  • Estimated property taxes for the next year are viewable - after notices of value are sent out.

In an effort to reduce postage costs, the treasurer’s office will only send one property tax statement in 2020, officials said. In previous years, two mailings were sent for those who chose to pay their taxes in separate payments.

Tax notices were mailed in January. If a mortgage company has requested tax information, a postcard was mailed to the property owner in lieu of a tax statement, officials said.

If you bought a new property in 2019 and have not received your tax notice, the transfer of ownership has not been processed yet, officials said. The treasurer’s office will continuously mail out tax notices to new owners once the records have been updated by the assessor’s office. Property tax information can be obtained sooner on the Treasurer’s Property Records Search Application if the search is done by address rather than owner’s name.

If you receive a tax notice for a property you sold in 2019, disregard it, officials said. Once the ownership records are updated, the new owner will be notified of the taxes due.
