Outdoor Fitness Court Opens In Lakewood's Addenbrooke Park

A launch party with free classes and demonstrations will be held on Sept. 4, the City of Lakewood announced.

LAKEWOOD, CO — A new outdoor fitness center is opening at Addenbrooke Park in Lakewood. The free bodyweight circuit training gym, at 600 S. Kipling Parkway, will cater to people of all fitness levels, the City of Lakewood said.

The city partnered with the San Francisco-based National Fitness Campaign to install the outdoor gym, which will be available to anyone over 14 years old. The workouts can be completed in as little as seven minutes a day, Fitness Court Ambassadors said.

With the Fitness Court app, available for iOS or Android, users can take classes and learn workout routines.

Community members are invited to test out the new the Fitness Court during a free launch event on Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Attendees can learn how to use the court through demonstrations or try a 20-minute PULSE class led by local Fitness Court Ambassadors. Classes will be offered at 5:15 p.m. and 6:15 p.m., and spots can be reserved on the app. Music, giveaways and healthy snacks will be provided.

National Fitness Campaign, a social enterprise founded in 1979, partners with local communities and nationwide sponsors to promote healthy infrastructure.
