Pollution Forecast For Front Range: March 19

Public health officials have released a pollution forecast for Denver's metro area and Boulder County.

Another action day alert for pollution has been issued for the Front Range.

Fine particulate matter concentrations are expected to be in the 'good' to 'unhealthy for sensitive groups' categories Friday, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

"People with heart or lung disease, older adults, and children, should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion on Friday," the agency said in an air quality advisory.

Visibility along the Front Range is expected to be in the 'poor' or 'extremely poor' category Friday, public health officials said.

Ozone concentrations in metro Denver and Boulder County are expected to be in the 'good' to 'moderate' categories.

Carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide levels will remain in the 'good' category on Friday, health officials said.
