All-Clear Given After 'Possible Bomb Situation' In Lakewood
There is no longer a threat at West Jewell Avenue and South Kipling Parkway, Lakewood police said.

LAKEWOOD, CO — An all-clear has been given after the Lakewood Police Department worked with the Jefferson County Sheriff's bomb squad to investigate a "possible bomb situation," police said Tuesday evening.
An investigation was underway at West Jewell Avenue and South Kipling Parkway, and by 6:04 p.m., police said there was no longer a threat.
"The area is now opened up again and businesses are reopening," Lakewood police said in a tweet.

The area was evacuated earlier in the evening but no homes were in danger, police said.

Officers were called to the area after a report of domestic violence, police said.
When the officers pulled over a driver, a "possible explosive device" was found in the vehicle, according to the Lakewood Police Department.
No further details about the investigation were released.
